It is "Rerun Week" in the video blogging community, so here is a video from our first "Meet The Vloggers" event here in Seattle at the University Village Apple Store.
Original release on August 6th, 2005... ah, the early days.

Submitted by
goldmedalfilms.com, a rowing specific website.
It's day 4 of the 6th annual
Bandwidth.com ski trip and four of us (Dave, Henry, Joe, and Dan) make a second attempt to go heli skiing. The first attempt got cancelled because of high winds but on this day
we score bluebird skies and some of the best powder of the season. We couldn't have asked for more for our first heli skiing experience!
04/11/2006

It's always a perfect scenario when a night's storm gives way to a powder filled, bluebird morning. We decided to return to the peak of Whistler Mountain to seek out our share of the untouched. Our search led us to an off trail gulley where we pushed through lactic acid build-up, baby trees and sinkholes, and had some truly memorable runs.

This video contains footage from our second and third days in Whistler. There were a few inches of new snow each day, but visibility was generally poor across both mountains. The first day we took laps in Blackcomb’s two terrain parks. On the second day, we tried to hide the warning signs from our friend Rob and took Whistler’s peak chair to the wind blown summit. Stay tuned for Part II of this video for a sunny powder day.
03/12/2006

Each year, our friend Rob from Chicago dusts off his skis and heads west to join us for a week of debauchery in Whistler, British Columbia. This video contains a drunken reflection of the week, but stay tuned for more videos from on the slopes of Whistler-Blackcomb.

After receiving 14.5 feet of snow in the month of January, the weather in the Cascade Mountains switched to wind and rain - causing us to miss the Baker Banked Slalom this year. Instead, we had high hopes of returning to Crystal Mountain's South Backcountry. Sadly, the wind returned and caused many of the upper chairs to close that week but the sunny views of Mt. Rainer are always amazing.

Aspen may be a haven for the rich and famous, but the week of the X Games brings in a whole new crowd. After driving from Denver, we headed straight to Snowmass for some fun in the sun. There was a full supply of PBR to keep the party alive, and we made sure to hit up the industry parties. The first night was the Mountain Dew MDX party, which required a cold gondola ride up on Aspen Mountain. The second night was Powder Magazine's 6th Annual Video and Reader Poll Awards where we got to rub elbows with some of the best skiers and filmers in the world. Finally on the last day in Aspen, we made it over to the X Games to watch the ski slopestyle turned big air contest. All in all it was a good trip, although we're not sure we've fully recovered yet.

SIA (Snowsports Industries America) is the largest trade show for the snow sports industry. Each year manufacturers, distributors, buyers, sales representatives, press/media, industry professionals and athletes convene in Las Vegas to preview the future year's products.
01/25/2006

A trip to Denver to visit family always includes a day at Vail. Once you get there, and swallowed the $82 lift fare, you're free to track up the 5289 available acres. On this day, the Sun was generous and it basked the back bowels with it's "thermonuclear love". What a sight for these Northwestern eyes.

We apologize for the delay in video releases, but Mother Nature has been pounding the Cascade Mountains with wind and rain for weeks. The good news is that the wait is over and we were rewarded with an epic powder day. With over 2 feet of new snow in 48 hours, Crystal Mountain offers terrain that rivals any resort in the world. We got fresh lines all day long by making laps around the upper mountain, and it was snowing so much that our tracks were filling in every hour. The best run was by far Exterminator, a double-black diamond back to the frontside that is accessible via a small hike up from Iceberg's Ridge. Stay tuned for upcoming videos from Vail/Breckenridge, SIA.06 SnowSports Trade Show in Vegas, Winter X Games in Aspen and The Legendary Mt. Baker Banked Slalom.

Home to the world's first chairlift, Sun Valley is better known for its glitz than its groomers. We flew into town for meetings and the Scott USA holiday party, but made time to ride the mountain. They had a big snowfall the prior week, and we were fortunate enough to be there the day the bowls opened up. Most of the afternoon was spent riding with the wife, but time spent teaching your girl pays off because it means more snow vacations in the future.
12/08/2005

What could be better than a Friday powder day at Baker? With no crowd, eight inches of new snow and a base of over ninety inches up on Pan Dome, we were prepared to go wild. Most of our crew has good riding skills for the steep and deep, but we are new to jibbing and jumping. This video contains a few of our bloopers.

Thanksgiving Day marked the 40th anniversary for Whistler Mountain and to celebrate they had a retro theme. Fortunately, Blackcomb Mountain was empty since it had been open for three weeks. There was not as much terrain open as we would have liked, but the second day was a powdery one.

Whistler is a five-hour drive from Seattle, seven and a half hours from Portland and an hour and a half north of Vancouver, British Columbia. Accessible via the Sea-To-Sky Highway, the road is undergoing massive improvements in preparation for the 2010 Winter Olympics. Starting at the Peach Arch boarder crossing in Washington, Google Earth helps to set the stage for this video.
11/28/2005

The early snowfall that jump started the Northwest season has since subsided. Our outing at
Stevens last weekend marked a week and a half of no snow, but the few runs that were open were still in good shape. In an attempt to shortcut across the mountain, we were thwarted by the melting snow pack. It turns out that a wet boot is reason enough to break for cheeseburgers and beers. Hey, at least we got a free round of Miller Lites and almost got some digits from the waitress.
11/18/2005

Starting the season with six and a half feet of snow, Mt. Baker has the biggest base in North America. Sure it has a park off Chair-8, but why bother when you have 18 inches of new and the entire resort is a natural terrain park. This place isn’t the fashion show that other resorts put on.
11/11/2005

As season pass holders, we had to make the trip up to
Stevens Pass for opening day even though they only opened two lifts (Hogsback and Skyline). Actually three lifts were running, but the Daisy chair doesn't count. It seems odd that Stevens didn't open up more lifts for opening day, yet they announced others would be open for Day 2. Too bad it was 40 degrees and raining the next day. With the past week's snowfall, there were plenty of fresh tracks to be made if you got there early and more hidden in the infamous secret spots.
11/07/2005

Marking the earliest in over a decade, Crystal Mountain fired up the lifts on November 4th to open the 2005-06 ski and snowboard season in the Pacific Northwest. Over three feet of new snow had fallen in the past weekend and before we knew it we were up to our crotches in the deep.

With over 5,000 rideable acres, Vail offers something for everyone. The 2004-05 season was horrible for the Pacific Northwest, but we arrived in Colorado a few days after a big snow dump and were greeted with warm sunshine in Vail. After touring the frontside, we hit up the infamous Back Bowls for the remainder of the afternoon. This video represents part 2 of a 2-part video series, which began with a
Colorado Preview.
11/02/2005

This video was shot January 2005 and represents part 1 of a 2-part video series. It is also the first video from our new ski and snowboard vlog called
Ridertech.com. After arriving in Denver, Wyatt stops by with the Coleman Classic and offers some insight on Breckenridge, Keystone and Vail. Be sure to stay tuned for our next post - the
Vail Colorado Review.

On the shores of Puget Sound in Shoreline, Washington sits Richmond Beach Saltwater Park. While most visitors just sit in their car and enjoy the scenery from the hillside parking lot, the beach below offers much better views of Magnolia and West Seattle to the South, Bainbridge Island and the Olympic Mountains to the West, and Whidbey Island to the North.
10/21/2005

Before Thanh (center) left the mainland and headed out for Honolulu, Hawaii, friends gathered for a going away bash at the Ballroon in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle. This clip features the video captured as the camera made its way around the bar.
10/10/2005

Google Earth sets the stage for this trip on the Mukliteo/Clinton ferry. The boat moves at a leisurely pace, so putting goggles on the animals is probably not necessary. The pricey, twenty-minute crossing provides a shortcut off the south end of Whidbey Island. The inner chunk of land is another island called Camano Island.

Mountain biking is very popular here in Washington, although we're out of shape and tend to prefer going downhill. Located just minutes outside Seattle there is a small network of trails in and around Saint Edward State Park. The single track trails vary in difficulty and skilled riders have built up technical obstacles if you get bored. This is a quick video from a lunchbreak session.

Meet our local garden spiders. Actually this footage is not in a garden but rather an office window. Each day spiders loom over the computer, and it has become quite fascinating. This year there have been more spiders than usual in Seattle. According the Farmer's Almanac, that means we'll have a cold winter. Who knows, but damn there are a lot of spiders this year. Either way, we've started dreaming of the white mountain tops.

Take a virtual tour around Seattle using Google Earth and stop by to see some videos from our archive. GeoVlogging is the process of associating a geographic location to a video blog post. In our first virtual voyage, you'll be able to watch time pass over Lake Union and share in some of our Seattle experiences.

This clip was lost and just found in the archives. It features images and videos taken at the O'heo Gulch and along the Pipiwai Trail in Hana on the island Maui, Hawaii. The series of waterfalls and tranquil pools (Seven Sacred Pools) flow through the O'heo Gulch and into the Pacific Ocean. The Pipiwai Streams feed these falls and numerous pools (more than 7) starting 2 miles inland. The Pipiwai Trail is an incredible hike that passes by several waterfalls and treks through a bamboo forest. The trail ends at the awe-inspiring Waimoku Falls, falling 400-feet down a sheer lava rock wall. For more Hawaiian video, please check

On Saturday August 6th, we held our first “Meet The Vloggers” event here in Seattle at the University Village Apple Store. Shout out to
Bre,
Clint and
Mel for helping put on a good show. In celebratory fashion, we hosted a post-party BBQ. A good time was had by all.

Looking out an airplane window never gets old, but once we were on the ground in Sun Valley it was time to crank it up a notch. There were meetings and we got work done, but everyone lets loose at night. It turns out nothing cures a hang over better than downhill mountain biking down Baldy Mountain.
07/23/2005
It was a perfect night to be hanging out on the shores of the Puget Sound. We took the cameras (of course) and captured the buzz and bustle of the crowd, the boats, as well as the sunset over the Olympics and the explosions in the sky. Give this clip a chance... just when you tire of first gear, it shifts into overdrive.

Seattle has two firework shows, one in the middle of Lake Union and another out in Elliot Bay. The Fourth of Jul-Ivars show is held on the shores of the Pugest Sound in Myrtle Edwards park. What better than water, mountains and a Supa Funky Momma... Daddy, can I have a new car?
07/17/2005

Due to the recent launch of
VlogMap.org, we found some fellow vloggers here in Seattle. It was perfect timeing since Bre Pettis (from
imakethings.com and
wearethemedia.com) was having a "Media Extravaganza Birthday Bash". Thanks to Jen and Bre for enviting us! We also had a chance to meet the infamous Clint Sharp "from
clintsharp.com", as well as Jay and Anastasia from
juxtaprose.com. To wrap the night up, we hit a Kings of Leon concert at the Moore Theatre. Good times were had by all.

Growing up in the Midwest, I've never had the unpleasurable experience of seeing a slug. Rumor has it that if you pour salt on a slug they melt. Now that would make for one disgusting video.

The 2005 Folklife Festival brought all types out under the Space
Needle over Memorial Day weekend. It is one of the largest, varied
and most vibrant free folklife celebrations in North America. If your
looking to experience some good times and a little out of the
ordinary, this is the place for you. We'll be back in '06.

Starting at 2pm... we ate, we drank, we shot vids... we had this edited by 2am. It is another all-Elph movie, but we quickly realized how fast you can fill up 1.5 gigabytes. Next time we'll be sure to bring the real cameras.
06/30/2005
Our first full length, all-Elph movie. We've done the photo slideshows with these before (more to come), but the new Canon cameras are awesome. Although, we wish they shot widescreen. The video is under 2 minutes but captures footage over the course of a 4-day trip from Seattle to Chicago. Airports are always an experience and what better than a family party. Watch for a shout out from Uncle Bob at the end.
05/19/2005

This clip features our field box seats for the first Red Sox game of the season at Safeco Field. Although it's usually a pretty passive experience at a Major League game in Seattle, we were sitting in one of the more wild sections. Watch for the bush-league peanut man (juuuuust a bit outside), and an intimate make-up moment between a couple of rowdy rivals. Final score: Seattle 14, Boston 7.
04/14/2005

After an extensive workout (featuring the "chuck it"), the full of potential, yellow lab mix was ready to clock out. We woke Marley to a healthy portion of peanut butter - If you ever wanted to see your dog struggle with a mouthful of PB, but felt it was too mean, check out this clip (cause we didn't). But don't worry, he was later given a prime spot on the couch.

The first country in the clockwise direction in the World Showcase (at Epcot in Orlando, Florida) is the Mexican pavillion. The video opens with the outside of the Pyramid modeled after an Aztec Temple of Quetzalcoatl (the God of Life) at Teotihuacan. The large serpent heads along the entrance stairs represents Quetzalcoatl. The majority of the clip is from the colonial plaza inside the building which set up to feel like an evening at feastive marketplace.
02/28/2005

The Morocco pavilion is located between France and Japan, and re-creates the architecture and atmosphere of this famed northern African kingdom. The clip features the back section of the Morocco pavilion which makes forget you are standing in Epcot. The intricate tile work, carvings and paintings in the pavilion were created by royal craftman sent by The King of Morocco.
01/24/2005

Filmed on location in China, Epcot Countries at Walt Disney World - Orlando, Florida, USA.
12/08/2004

Located between the United States and Morocco in the World Showcase is the Japan Pavilion. This clip opens with the blue roofed five-story Goju-no-to pagoda and the sounds of the Taiko Drummers (which can be heard halfway around the World Showcase). The clip also features the huge sculptures of mounted samurai warriors, and the wide bridge spanning a moat to the Shirasagigi, or White Egret Castle, with its curved stone walls, white plaster and blue tile roof.
10/31/2004

This clip features the beaches, lava fields, and fishbowls of Kihei and Makena. There are also images of the Iao Needle, Haleakala sunrise, and the Lahaina marketplace. The Haleakala sunrise overlooking the extinct sheild volcano is an experience of a lifetime (as well as the drive back down). The Ioa Needle gives you that tropical jungle experience, while the lava fields (from an eruption in 1790) is other-worldly. The Lahaina downtown area has a cool atmosphere, and the marketplace under the huge banyan tree, is a must see (one tree, twelve trunks, shades over 2/3 of an acre).
09/28/2004

This vid features the trip on Hana Highway on Maui's northeast side and is famous with its blind turns, one-lane bridges, secluded beaches, waterfall-fed pools, and rain forest splendor. Stops were made for a swim, the waterfalls, and an insane cliff diver. The clip shows the diversity of beaches (red and black sand), blow holes, and lava tube caves in Hana (when you finally get there). The red sand beach (good luck finding this one) and the Asian cemetary was the best part of Hana experience.

This is the very first LBV circa 2003. The pictures in the beginning were taken as the plane left LA headed for Maui. The setting sun gave great lighting for theses shots, especially the mountain forest fire image. The second half are shots from the last leg of the flight home from Vancouver B.C. to Seattle. You'll see Marrowstone and Indian Island off of Port Townsend, the I-90 floating bridge, and a reflection of the camera in the airplane engine (if you look extremely close).
